We are delighted with the pro bono legal support we have been receiving from Olswang in respect of the high profile refurbishment of Tedworth House into a Personnel Recovery and Assessment Centre which will both aid the transition of wounded soldiers out of the armed services into civilian life and then provide a support structure for veterans for the rest of their lives. This is an incredibly huge commitment costing over £17m in capital costs alone. Olswang's support means that we can ensure that every penny is directed towards the refurbishment and provision of the facilities and that we have access to top notch lawyers in buying in services for both the capital development and service delivery.”Jonathan Ballin, Chief Financial Officer, Help for Heroes
Over the past couple of years we have helped and are helping over 50 charities by providing pro bono legal support, assisting them with legal matters and training.
For example, we have provided IP, employment and commercial support to the Mayor's Fund for London and our lawyers delivered a presentation to Breakthrough Breast Cancer on changes to the rules on advertising which will impact on Breakthrough's marketing activities, particularly in the social media space.
We are also providing pro bono legal advice to Help for Heroes, Macmillan, Save The Children, Elephant Family, Guy Fox History Project, Julie's Bicycle, Prison Reform Trust and Whitechapel Mission, amongst many others.
