The Centre for Fashion Enterprise believes that business working alongside creativity brings greater design opportunity. Both are essential to success in the fashion industry. Our partnership with Helen, Sarah and the Olswang team has brought a legal expertise to CFE businesses and the UK Fashion Designer Sector which is bringing confidence to designers in the ways they do business. They are more likely to engage in fashion industry collaborations, consultancies, licensing and investments. This drives new revenues to accelerate cash flow, investment and ultimately sustainability in their businesses which drives future growth in the sector as a whole." Wendy Malem Director, Centre for Fashion Enterprise
CFE is London's pioneering business incubator that supports and nurtures emerging fashion design talent.
Led by IP partners Helen Newman and Sarah Wright, our team works with CFE's Venture programme designed to support designer businesses which are established or are likely to be showcased at London Fashion Week. The team provides pro bono IP workshops and one-to-one legal advice essential to the success and survival of these new brands. The programme encompasses the key aspects involved in developing a fashion label as a business, and provides support and advice from experienced industry specialists.
We also combined our fashion and green expertise for Climate Week 2011. In partnership with designers from EcoLuxe, a non-profit platform promoting fashion-related ecoluxury brands, we ran a series of talks and workshops intended to raise awareness of up-cycling, showing how a simple t-shirt can be turned into something fabulous.
