We would like to thank all the volunteers from Olswang for their hard work in cleaning and sorting out the house in time for its Spring opening to the public. The National Trust relies largely on volunteers and donations to maintain the house and keep it in good order and is very grateful for Olswang's contribution."
Local community volunteering – Basildon Park.
In the Thames Valley Office we took part in the annual 'waking up' of the National Trust property, Basildon Park. Volunteers helped with cleaning, removing protective dust sheets from antique furniture and generally ensured the property was ready for visitors after its winter hibernation. As a large property, Basildon Park relies on help from volunteers to maintain and preserve its history and ultimately its place in the nation's heritage.
